Today’s Story of the Day is a bit of a cheat: it’s a poem. However, it’s a fantastic, waffle-rocking poem by Kelcy Wilburn, a writer and musician living in New Orleans and earning her MFA in poetry at the University of New Orleans. This is the title poem from her thesis:
and everything with a hardness to it
like the canyon you paint over the white walls
