Today seems to be a day of nonfiction, with “Following Distance” striking me early this morning, and now I find myself lost in Ira Glass’s New Kings. Please enjoy today’s (nonfiction) Story of the Day, and think about where the trouble begins:
But this, chance, isn’t story. Chance doesn’t satisfy the itch story scratches, or not chance entirely. Story demands agency.
