Five Stories

For the holiday weekend, instead of one Story of the Day, here’s a five-pack to hold you over, and guarantee some quality reading. Each of these stories bring something different, something engaging, to the fictional table. I’m hoping to write this weekend, and consume lobster rolls at an unhealthy pace, and these stories pushed me on the way (well, for the writing; the lobster rolling, not so much).

* “Laura, Linda, Sweetie Pie,” by Daniel Wallace (from Wag’s Revue)

* “Mom Blog,” by Sophie Rosenblum (from Wigleaf)

* “In the Uttermost Parts of the Sea,” by Hans Christian Andersen

* “Down and Down We Drifted…,” by David Hollander (from The Collagist)

* “Tennessee,” by Justin Taylor (from Fifty-Two Stories)
